swag 2        [ swag ]     Show IPA , noun,   verb,   swagged,   swag·ging. noun 1. Slang   . a. plunder;   booty. b. money;   valuables. I am a total swag collector... I adore going to the mail only to find little gifts from Authors all around the world.  Romance Trading Cards, Bookmarks, Post Cards and much more. I'm very lucky that I know several authors and I enter a lot of book giveaways. I recently joined several groups and in one of them a wonderful lady and fan of Deena Remiel  suggested that we get together and become a Street Team for one of our favourite Authors.  Of course, I said yes right away!  Having agreed to go to my local library or local book stores and drop off some of this swag I thought to myself... Why not ask some more of my Author friends if they'd like to send me some of their swag and I could do the same for them. That's how I ended up with a big pile of swag to give out locally :D I was so excited to get out there and make people's d

Product Review!! The Peaceful Housewife's Household Cleaner's E-book!

Image
Hey all!  I got pretty lucky this week.  I was given a chance to read a great and informative book.   "The Peaceful Housewife Household Cleaner's ebook."  It's a mouthful but very much worth saying. This book is filled with great recipes for cleaner's that we actually use.    I've honestly read a few books with recipes like this but they were filled with recipes I would never use.  I never clean the outdoor steps on my hands and knees thanks, got no time for that!  With this book your actually getting recipes for cleaners we actually use almost everyday. As you all know I'm a makeup fanatic and something I absolutely hate having to do is clean my makeup brushes, not only is the solution expensive to use but it's time consuming.  In this book there was an awesome recipe to clean my makeup brushes!!!  YAY!  Actually there was several for just that. I decided to give it a try and took pics and a small video of the process. Here is 4 of my eyeshado

Hi Leanne and Everybody! Thank you for the opportunity to write about my passions for interior decorating and writing romance here on Books Read 'N' Makeup Done. I can't wait to post yours about makeup on my WriterMason blog!  Let me introduce myself: I’m Pamela V. Mason – not to be confused with the late James Mason’s actress/director wife Pamela Mason, hence the ‘V’. I am a native of New Orleans,LA – the part that Katrina tried to take out oh, six years ago this Tuesday. My own childhood home of screen doors and chandeliers still stands, but many old neighbors’ homes are slabs now. My father designed and built our home there. Upstairs the cedar closet held my father’s satin King of Pegasus costume with his crown, and we had a crystal chandelier that sparkled with rainbows. The guest room closet held a secret passageway to the attic where George, our ghost, resided. Mardi Gras parades went past our cypress double front doors. When Hurricane Betsy blew through, our nei

In the first of a wildly entertaining mystery series set amid the bright lights, big egos, and Botoxed brows of Hollywood, Cheryl Crane—daughter of legendary movie star Lana Turner—introduces a smart, hilarious, and utterly loveable heroine in realtor-turned-amateur sleuth, Nikki Harper. For Nikki Harper, realtor to the stars and daughter of 1950s screen goddess Victoria Bordeaux, Hollywood is home. A completely dysfunctional home populated by a cast of crazies, true, but home nonetheless. While Nikki's no stranger to scandal, she's shocked to receive a hysterical phone call from her business partner, Jessica Martin, saying that TV has-been Rex March has been found dead in Jessica's bed. More shocking than Rex's death is the fact that, as far as anyone knew, Rex was already dead. Six months ago, the star of the seventies sitcom Shipwrecked Vacation was supposedly killed when his plane crashed in the Mojave Desert. Nikki and Jessica recently sold his mansion

A couple of weeks ago my brother set up a camera in his office.  It's setup to take successive pictures when it captures motion  within the room.   My brother went out of town with his wife and son.   My Sister-In-law thought my brother was a bit obsessive over  checking the camera's images via the net.  She hatched up a  brilliant plan to try and teach my brother a lesson! She called her parents and had them go into the house and  pretend to steal stuff from my brother's office LOL  Here's what  my brother found when he looked at what his camera captured. By this time my brother Devon is hopping mad, he calls out to  his wife that she has got to see the pictures and that they have to  call the cops right away.  He had only looked at 2 pictures when  he went nuts on everyone.  Had he continued to look he would  have found this. His in-laws having a great time laughing and knowing the pulled  off the joke of the year!  Her

I'd like to introduce the wonderful Author Debra Webb! I've had the pleasure of reading this great book and here is your chance! *APPLAUSE* Have you read a book that you wish would be made into a movie? It happens and sometimes it’s great fun to see the story play out on the screen (as long as they get the characters and the story right!). My summer release, DIRTY, is one I would love to see as a movie for reasons beyond the expected (money, career affirmation). I waited years for the opportunity to see DIRTY published. No matter how much time passed, I remained certain that the story and the protagonist were worthy of publication.  When I first wrote DIRTY I had buzzed past the 45 mark and I was annoyed that women just weren’t viewed the same way as men of the same age. Was that mid-forty mark the true indication of being WAY over the hill? Old? Done? I refused to believe that then and, seven years later, I refuse to believe it now. So I forged onward with self-publis

Hi everyone – Thanks to Leanne for giving me and my new novel, Night Walker, a spot on her beautiful blog today! I met Leanne on Facebook, in a book group. Not only is she fun and intelligent, but this girl loves books! I’m so glad we met, and not only has she pointed out some great books, she also posts fun make-up tips too. J But I never would have known any of that if it weren’t for social media. As a debut author, I wonder how many people would have heard about my book if it weren’t for facebook and twitter and amazing book bloggers? Social media has not only made our world smaller, it has also brought readers and authors together.  As book stores close, online book groups and book bloggers become even more important to bring attention to new books and new authors.  Without them, it’s tough for a book to gain exposure in the crowded online marketplace. In Night Walker, my hero, Calisto, is an over 200 year old immortal who doesn’t like cars or computers.  So he h

NEW RELEASE PARTY I am proud to announce that  BOOKS READ 'N' MAKEUP DONE  is hosting "The Gift" 's release party! Please Welcome Author Kat Deacon!!!! CONGRATS KAT!!! Hey everybody! My name is Kat Deacon and welcome to Leanne’s wonderful blog and my release party for THE GIFT !! I’m both excited and terrified that my novella is out floating around in the world. I’ve dreamed of being a writer my whole life…well that is after my mom explained that it was impossible to be Wonder Woman. Alas, no lasso of truth or invisible jet in my future, but that didn’t stop me from imagining a world where I could have those things and more. My love of writing grew from a passion for books. My mom used to take us to the library several days out of the week. For one…she loved reading. For two…it was a great inexpensive way to entertain three kids. Her closet was filled with romance novels. I used to hide in there and read. I was fascinated by the fantasy and
